WEARE, NH โ The Weare Police Department has announced the arrest of a local registered sex offender, Karl Messner, following an investigation initiated on October 7, 2025.
The arrest came after the Weare Police received information concerning Messner, leading to a swift investigation that established probable cause for new charges.
The Weare Police Department, with the crucial assistance of the New Hampshire Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC) and the Hillsborough County Sheriffโs Office Criminal Investigation Division, took Messner into custody without incident.
Messner was transported to the Hillsborough County Department of Corrections and was arraigned earlier today at the 9th Circuit Goffstown District Court. He is currently being held on preventive detention.
The Weare Police Department stated that this is an ongoing investigation and that additional charges may be forthcoming. Authorities took the opportunity to urge all residents and visitors of Weare to report any suspicious activity.
The police emphasized, as is standard procedure, that the charges and allegations are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
